The Gabba R Women's Jacket – R being short for race – has been crafted especially for women racing in adverse conditions and is not only waterproof in most riding conditions, but light, stretchy and the most aerodynamic jacket that Castelli has ever made, acting as a rain cape and speed suit in one.

Its impressive water resistance, which has prompted Castelli to label it ‘functionally waterproof’ in foul cycling conditions, is courtesy of a brand new, exclusive technical fabric that features a breathable and hydrophobic, microporous external membrane.

As well as keeping you dry during intense efforts, both inside and out, this featherlight fabric with its polyelastane backing can stretch to double its original dimensions in any direction and offer a phenomenally aerodynamic fit.

The Gabba R didn't just test well in the wind tunnel against other jackets, although it was 4.5% faster than Castelli's best rain jacket, 3.5% faster than the long sleeved Perfetto and 2.5% faster than its predecessor. It also tested 1% faster than the racy Sanremo BTW Speed Suit, used by Team Soudal-Quickstep, in normal road positions at 37-50kmh, and just 1% slower in an aggressive, aero position.

This women's cut jacket is furthermore fully windproof and completely PFAS-free, making it warm on gusty days and more eco-friendly than most performance rain jackets. It features a drop tail with reflective detailing, to fend off spray and enhance your low-light visibility, as well as self-draining pockets and low-profile, raw-cut sleeves that are tailored to fit over or under gloves, with stretch wrists to keep water out.
